Bake the cake you think our baby is. If you think it's a boy, bake something girly and give it a boy's name. If you reckon girl, do it the other way round. We'll share our hunches and enjoy them together, with a brew.

So what is this, exactly?
Gender reveal? Baby shower? Honestly, a bit of both, plus cake. It's the one big get-together we're doing before the baby arrives, so we've rolled the lot into a single morning.
Mostly it's an excuse to see everyone in one room, celebrate the little one on the way, and eat a truly unreasonable amount of cake.
Is it a gender reveal?
Sort of. We'll find out together at the end, once everyone's placed their bet in cake form.
Is it a baby shower?
That too, minus the gift list. See the gifts bit.
Is there another party later?
No, this is it. If you can make anything, make this.
How it works
The example
1. You think it's a boy
2. So pick a girl's cake: Victoria Sponge
3. Bake it, rename it Edward Sponge
Keep it vegan
Bakes need to be vegan, so the mum-to-be can eat them too.
Quick recap
Bake against your hunch — a girly cake for a boy guess, and the other way round.
Make it vegan.
Rename it with a name of the sex you're guessing.

We're not expecting gifts — a cake and your company is plenty. If you did want to give something, we'd rather it went towards our doula. We'd use your kind gift towards buying some post-natal doula sessions.
